The Screen Thief

When the Snaffle comes to the city she just wants to make friends, but everyone is too busy staring at their screens to notice her. So when she finds a screen of her own, she decides to see what all the fuss is about - which proves to be a very tasty decision!

This books is lots of fun, with a gentle message about screen time and making time for those around us. Most of us will be guilty of staring at our screens when we should be doing something else (I'm using mine right now - and so are you if you're reading this review!) The Screen Thief is a reminder that we sometimes need to put those screens away before we miss out on friendships and opportunities in the 'offline world'.

My children found this story really funny. They loved the busy, animal-filled illustrations and the rhyme scheme and lively rhythm provided lots of enjoyment too. It was a good conversation starter, but also an enjoyable bedtime story which I can see us returning to again and again.

Thank you Scholastic for sending me a copy of The Screen Thief to review
