Ruby knows what she wants, even if other people don't always agree, or if she doesn't get everything right first time. This fierce, fearless little girl is never afraid to go after what she wants.
This brilliant book reminded me of Edie by Sophy Henn and I'm a Girl! by Yasmeen Ismail, which are two of our favourites.
Each page has a different colour, making every spread bright and unique. I loved the design and illustration throughout - Ruby is so cute! I enjoyed seeing her get up to mayhem and the facial expressions of her parents made me giggle. I'll definitely be on the look out for new picture books illustrated by Hazel Quintanilla in the future.
This book is a celebration both of being yourself and believing in yourself. It's fun and uplifting and I can see us enjoying it for years to come. It's a perfect picture book for strong-willed, determined little girls.
