The Fairy Dogmother

Our favourite picture book of the year? This is definitely a contender!

When Cinder's Fairy Dogmother appears and offers to grant him one wish, Cinder can't decide what to choose. All his friends have their own ideas of happiness - from longer legs to a ball (of both the rolling and dancing variety) But Cinder wonders if he can use his wish to give everyone a happily ever after.

This picture book was an instant hit. It offers a hilarious twist on a much loved tale (or tail!) with some great nods to the original throughout. It was so much fun to read and is, without doubt, one of the best picture books we've had to review this year.

The bright artwork that reminded us of some of our favourites, Jim Field and Rob Biddulph, and I'll definitely be on the look out for more picture books illustrated by Richard Merritt. Each dog is unique and adorable.

Thank you so much Little Tiger for sending us a copy to review.

The Fairy Dogmother is written by Caroline Crowe and illustrated by Richard Merritt
