Seal Child

My second New Frontier Publishing picture book for review this month is Seal Child, by Robert Vescio and Anna Pignataro

After a huge wave washes everything she knows and loves away a little girl is left alone in darkness, until an equally lonely seal pup comes to say hello.

Seal Child is a story about friendship, shared loss and survival. It is uplifting and sweet and I can see it becoming a firm favourite at bedtime. The bond between the little girl and the seal is really lovely.

Pignataro's illustrations are beautiful. I loved the water colour oceans and the splash of bright red in the little girl's lifejacket.

Thank you New Frontier Publishing for sending us a copy to review.

Seal Child is written by Robert Vescio and illustrated by Anna Pignataro
