A perfect review for Mother's Day! This funny picture book is narrated by a little boy with a wild imagination.
Whether she's hunting her prey post-bath time or roaring loudly from the audience, this boy's mum is as proud as a lioness.
The use of language in this story is really clever, bringing a funny twist to words usually associated with lions and wild animals. My children giggled throughout.
Dapo Adeola's illustrations are full of colour and fun. Mum's transformation into a lion, still with her curly hair, bright pink glasses and jeans, works really well.
This book is a brilliant celebration of mums and families. It's perfect for cuddling up on the sofa with your pride - whether it's Mothering Sunday, or any other day of the year.
Thank you Macmillan Children's Books for sending me a copy to review.
